The Midwest Fly Fishing Expo Wrap Up

This past weekend was more or less spent behind the T.F.M. booth at the Midwest Fly Fishing Expo in Warren, Michigan.  This was my first time attending this show and I was completely impressed by it start to finish.  Joe Sprys and the rest of the Michigan Fly Fishing Club run a class act and there wasn't a attendee, presenter, or exhibitor that wasn't glad that they came to the show.

I didn't have a lot of time to walk the floor of the show but did making a couple quick walk throughs and enjoyed seeing the artists, outfitters, fly tiers, and gear companies who were present.  I would guess that there were over 100 exhibitors and well over 4,000 people who attended the show this year.

Thanks to everyone that came by the T.F.M. booth to talk fiberglass fly rods and also those that attended my hour long presentation on Saturday afternoon on "The Reinvention of the Fiberglass Fly Rod".

It was also very neat that T.F.M. wasn't the only booth which emphasized fiberglass fly rods with both Graywolf Rods and McFarland Rods exhibiting there as well.  More than a few put glass in their hands and spent some time at the casting pond as well.  There is already talk of a few more builders attending next year's show.

I don't see doing a lot of shows each year but do plan on coming back next year for the Midwest Fly Fishing Expo.  I had a great time and it's a great excuse to get home to Michigan.  Thanks again to the Michigan Fly Fishing Club for the invitation.  I had a most excellent time.

Special thanks to Adam Tsaloff for helping hold down the T.F.M. booth between shopping trips and for sharing some very excellent fiberglass fly rods from his own collection for the demo display.
